appeal

The sound of his voice leaves me undone.

I hang up and pause silently for a minute, letting myself return to the quiet; the rest of my day, slowly.

It can be an innocuous hello, a concerned ok or a playful comment meant to make me smile.

The way he laughs fills me with warmth.  A heat that spreads from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet.  It’s the same
reaction foot-wise I got when he gripped my ankle, poised to tickle.

The way he gets my attention when I’m talking too much.

The tone he gets when he can’t resist torturing me.

The manner in which he speaks the very words he knows will push me over the edge.
